Another fancier we have had the opportunity to purchase from is the excellent Wim De Troy from Berlaar on the outskirts of Lier. Wim was one of the best Sprint fanciers around, and decided to pursue the middle distance a few years ago. Since then he has never looked back with scores of 1st’s and is now regarded as one of the finest Middle Distance fanciers in the Antwerp Union. Over the last couple of years for instance 2007 he bred two National ACE pigeons one named “Marianne” raced by Daneels. In 2008 he tops the Provincial Twice that being the fastest in Antwerp. Then in 2009 he became the 3rd National Champion of Belgium with Y/Birds on the Major National events. Once again we paid a visit to Wim De Troy and carefully selected a team of pigeons to bring back to Ireland.
